Textbook: Conceptual Physics by Paul Hewitt , 8th edition

Attendance Policy : You are required to attend every class and lab session. Student needs to be responsible for making up the missed material.

Grading Criteria :

Labs 30% Total of 18 labs will be done in group of 3 or 4 students. Only data can be common among the group. Other work needs to be done separately. Identical reports may earn zero. Each lab will be graded out of 20 points. Make up labs only with prior permission.

Tests : 40% Four multiple choice , open book, notes tests will be given. See attached schedule. You need to take prior permission to take test other than schedule day, time.

Final Exam : 10% Comprehensive, multiple choice, closed book, notes.

Home work : 10% Will be assigned from each chapter. You need to show all the work to get full credit. Homework is due on the test day. See attached schedule.

Collaborative activity : 10% Worksheets from workbook will be assigned to complete in class, in a group. You need to be present in class in order to earn full credit. Half credit for late work.

Grading Policy :

88% and above -A

78 to 87.9 - B

68 to 77.9 - C

58 to 67.9 - D

below 57.9 - F
